Senior Strategist

The Role

The Mission

Create compelling brand strategies and signature experiences that establish (or further cement) our clients as category leading, timeless brands. Work with every team in the business to bring your strategies to life through  visual design, brand-led CX and proposition design.

The Remit

Matter Of Form is looking for a talented and highly motivated senior strategist to join our Brand & Experience Design Consultancy. Reporting to our Strategy Director, you will join a small strategy team, committed to creating meaningful strategies and ideas for some of the world's leading luxury brands.

Our journey with clients usually begins with a big challenge; a conundrum to solve, a market to shake-up, an audience to understand. As our senior strategist you’ll often begin an engagement by understanding business issues and objectives to understand where time and energy can be spent to unlock the necessary change for our clients. Most of our projects involve (re)defining foundational brand strategy assets (brand positioning, brand architecture, naming etc.), before moving seamlessly into workstreams aimed at bringing that brand thinking to life. Unlike some other consultancies, we don’t stop at delivering a Keynote. You’ll have the opportunity to think about ‘brand’ holistically, working with Experience Designers and Innovators in the business to influence how people experience the brand at key points of interaction. To be clear, this isn’t just about impacting marketing touchpoints but instead the physical and digital experiences customers have with a brand - often working with masterplans, architects, operations teams, investors etc. to create things of real and lasting value.

Our clients are those who value their brand above all else - icons of culture and luxury marques who are category leaders when it comes to craft, service and creative vision. They want solutions which rise above passing fads and whimsical trends, giving you an opportunity to focus your thinking on long term success. With clients ranging from hospitality to fashion to architecture to festivals to jewellery to drinks and beyond, this role is a great opportunity to diversify your thinking across sectors. However, luxury hospitality/travel is a core competency for our consultancy, and as such we firmly believe you need to have a curiosity for the world and a spirit of adventure which will see you embrace opportunities to travel (immersing yourself in our clients’ brands might see you spotting wildlife on a Botswanian safari or a visit to an East Coast atelier to understand their unique approach to fine jewellery making).

Maybe you’re a brand strategist looking to step into a role which promises more opportunities to innovate. Maybe you come from an innovation background and are seeking the chance to get involved with brand positioning and identity much further upstream in a project lifecycle. You might have experience which already spans the spectrum. Whichever applies, we are committed to supporting and nurturing amazing talent and you will join a supportive & collaborative team who will share their knowledge, guide your learning & development and champion your growth & success. In return, we hope you’ll not only have the opportunity to do the best work of your life, you’ll make it so others can do the best of theirs. We want you to feel you can have an impact on our culture as much as the other way around.
