08 October 2020 | MOF Team
Speaking about the appointment, CEO Anant Sharma described what Melissa would bring to the team:
“We are so pleased to welcome Melissa to the business. Search and Content are the core of our client's digital strategies, and she brings so much experience and energy to the business. We are confident Melissa will help further consolidate Matter Of Form's market-leading Brand and Digital offering.”
The role itself entails ensuring design, content, UX and development teams are supported with search-based insight to make creative and technical decisions with the client’s search objectives in mind.
Melissa’s experience is broad, combining a background in journalism and research with experience in digital marketing, having formerly worked as Head of SEO Strategy at Go Up and consulting independently for a range of clients. She has worked on search projects for Justerini & Brooks, Banham, Egon Zehnder, Landmark Offices, Gerald Eve, Anyvan and CBI, amongst others.
Melissa expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, saying “SEO still has so many negative connotations. Thanks to its spammy, black-hat early years it’s often seen as the antagonist to beautiful design or considered UX, and it absolutely can be that--when it’s shoehorned into a project as an afterthought.”
“Getting to work with the Matter Of Form team and building a search consciousness into every stage of the process is a wonderful opportunity to challenge those misconceptions. SEO can co-exist harmoniously, woven into content that retains its brand essence, support good user experience and encourage technical excellence.”
“We can show that search isn’t an awkward add-on after all. Quite the opposite. SEO is a kind of thinking that can help ensure investment in design, UX and development continues to deliver dividends in quality search traffic long after the initial expenditure”.
At MOF we’re passionate about creating exceptional brand-led experiences that leverage our knowledge, design methodologies and the latest in what technology has to offer in terms of human interactions and business efficiencies.
